Benedict Cumberbatch, 38.  The “3” is silent, or perhaps it is the “8.” Depends on the day, really.

    thas wassup.

this is literally the first time I’ve seen someone with BPD presented so positively. It’s a pretty hidden illness with a lot of misinformation about it floating around so this really means a lot

  • Just an experiment. Reblog if you actually give a fuck about male victims of domestic violence and rape.

    Of fucking course

    What sick bastard doesn’t

"You’d be surprised", said Xaldien, who just lost four followers and received a lovely "men can’t be raped" anon shortly after reblogging this the first time.

    Yowch, disgusting.

fun fact the opening song tells the entire plot of the movie, but everyone is always too distracted by the amazing animation to notice the lyrics. job well done, Disney.

This is a time-honored Disney tactic you can see in Beauty and the Beast, too. Take a close look at the book Belle is reading in “Belle” and listen to how she describes it: “Far-off kingdoms, daring swordfights, a prince in disguise!” She leaves for a far-off kingdom, there’s a daring swordfight between Gaston and the Beast, who turns out to be … a prince in disguise. If you look at the image in Belle’s book, you’ll also see that the girl in the book is wearing Belle’s dress.

And for a stealth!version of this, listen, not to the film version of “The Circle of Life,” but the Elton John radio single.

You can witness it further in Mulan, in the song “You’ll Bring Honor To Us All.”

Fun fact! If you’re not paying attention to the opening song in a Disney musical, you just missed half the plot.

Did you know that pregnant women have been fired for using the bathroom to vomit, needing to carry a water bottle on the job, or asking to sit on a stool instead of standing in place all day? While employers have to make allowances like these for other types of temporary disabilities, a number of bad court decisions have encouraged them to feel they can get away with firing or mistreating pregnant workers with impunity.

It’s disgraceful and unacceptable that at a time when unnecessary budget cuts are decimating food, medical, and educational supports for low-income families, pregnant women continue to be pushed out of their jobs just as they take on all the expenses of having a new baby.

Read more about the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
and take action by contacting your congressperson.

This is unacceptable. Pregnant workers need more protection. With a child coming up they need employment more than ever. Please contact your rep.

    Fucking bullshit.

'No you can't have paid maternity leave'
'What do you mean you have special needs when you're pregnant?'

Pro-lifers, look closely. People can and do lose their jobs for being pregnant.

They do. And still no paid maternity leave. We’re the only “civilized nation” that does not have it. Swaziland and Papua New Guinea are our company in this no paid maternity leave.

Since the percent of people who have an abortion cite the reason they are is not being able to take the time to be pregnant, you’d think it’d be a pretty prolife thing to do to help protect jobs of pregnant people. And maybe just maybe bring America into the radical notion of paid maternity leave.

  • “Yes. That is exactly what [dementors] are [depression]. It was entirely conscious. And entirely from my own experience. Depression is the most unpleasant thing I have ever experienced. It is that absence of being able to envisage that you will ever be cheerful again. The absence of hope. That very deadened feeling, which is so very different from feeling sad. Sad hurts but it’s a healthy feeling. It’s a necessary thing to feel. Depression is very different.” J.K. Rowling, June 2000

"Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. […] they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them. Get too near a dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you. […] You’ll be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life." Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban pg 155

"Thought I was goin’ mad. Kep’ goin’ over horrible stuff in me mind… […] "Yeh can’ really remember who yeh are after a while. An’ yeh can’ really see the point o’ livin’ at all. I used ter hope I’d jus’ die in me sleep. When they let me out, it was like bein’ born again, ev’rythin’ I came floodin’ back, it was the bes’ feelin’ in the world." – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban pg 183-184

It conjures up a Patronus,” said Lupin, "which is a kind of anti- dementor — a guardian that acts as a shield between you and the dementor.” […] ”The Patronus is a kind of positive force, a projection of […] hope, happiness, the desire to survive.” – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban pg 196
